Does Amber Heard Has A Mental Health Problem Or A Personality Disorder?

A clinical and forensic psychologist, Shannon Curry, has testified that the actress Amber Heard suffers from Borderline Personality Disorder and Histrionic Personality Disorder as the trial continues.

The lawsuit between the ex-couple started when Heard wrote, in Washington Post, an op-ed piece describing herself as “ a public figure representing domestic abuse”. The article was written in 2016 when Heard filed for divorce. Heard didn’t mention Depp by name, but he sued her for implying he was a domestic abuser and asking for $50 million for damages.

The forensic psychologist was hired by Johnny Depp’s legal team to evaluate the mental condition of Depp’s former wife, Amber Heard, during 12 hours of interviews with Heard.

Moreover, Curry has refuted Heard’s claim, clarifying that she doesn’t suffer from post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), from her relationship with his former husband, Depp.

Both, Borderline Personality Disorder and Histrionic Personality Disorder, are closely similar as Curry said. The first is a disease of insecurity, “ driven by the fear of abandonment”.

During the trial, many clips have shown Heard begging Depp not to leave her. As people with this disease “ will make desperate attempts to prevent that from happening”, Curry claimed.

Many witnesses have been invited to the court to give their testimony. One of whom is Tara Robert, the manager of Depp’s residence located in the Bahamas. Tara has witnessed an argument between the couple. She said: “Amber was telling him he was a washed-up actor going to die a fat, lonely old man”.

Afterward, as Depp wanted to leave, Heard was seen hugging and kissing him and begging him not to leave.

Furthermore, Curry clarified that Borderline Personality Disorder “seems to be a factor for women who implement violence against their partners”. Depp, on the other hand, has said that he is the one who has suffered from domestic violence not Heard.

Curry added that Histrionic Personality Disorder is related to “ drama and shallowness”. Most of the time, it is associated with physically attractive people who “ utilize their looks to get attention”, and are attention-seekers.

No part, Heard or Depp, has taken the stand in this trial yet. The trial is still going on. It has shed light on the toxic relationship between the two by focusing on the ugly details of the couple’s brief marriage.

Both Borderline Personality Disorder and Histrionic Personality Disorder are mental health illnesses that affect one’s life. The first impacts one’s emotions. That is, the way you think and feel about yourself and your surroundings. While the second is connected with attention. Patients seek to be the center of the world, if they don’t get the attention they want they feel totally depressed and worthless.
